Recent floods have caused severe damage in many provinces and cities across the country, including many communes and districts of Yen Bai province, resulting in dozens of dead and missing, submerging hundreds of houses and destroying animals and plants.

Consequently, the People's Army Newspaper in cooperation with the Voice of Vietnam, the Vietnam Economic News and other relevant agencies and units, co-organized an art performance to mark Vietnamese Women’s Day (October 20, 1930) and 67 years since the People’s Army Newspaper published the first issue (October 20, 1950). Via this program, the organizing panel wanted to raise funds to help flood-hit people ease their difficulties and losses caused by recent floods and heavy rains. The program attracted the participation of many individuals and organizations, including Loc Troi Group.

On October 31, the People's Army Newspaper, on behalf of the organizing panel of the art performance, in cooperation with Loc Troi Group, visited and presented 1,000 gifts at a total cost of VND 300 million to 1,000 households in Phuc Son, Hanh Son and Thach Luong communes (Van Chan district) and two communes of Xa Ho and Hat Luu (Tram Tau district) in Yen Bai province.

Senior Colonel Phung Thanh Tien, Deputy-Political Commissar of the Yen Bai Provincial Military Command and Au Xuan Don, Vice-Chairman of Loc Troi Group’s Trade Union presented gifts to the needy people in the province.

Speaking at the event, Senior Colonel Phung Kim Lan, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper expressed his thankfulness to the Yen Bai provincial Military Command and other relevant agencies for their help to organize the art performance, contributing to raising fund for flood-hit people.

On behalf of the people of Van Chan and Tram Tau districts, Hoang Thi Hue, Vice-Chairman of the People's Council of Van Chan district expressed thanks for the sentiments and support of Loc Troi Group and the People's Army Newspaper.

Over the past years, Loc Troi Group has cooperated with the People's Army Newspaper to organize many social activities throughout the country. Accordingly, Loc Troi Group has mobilized its staff to donate 4,000 gifts, totally valued at VND 1.2 billion, to help flood-hit people in northern provinces stabilize their lives.
