Troops continue helping flood victims
PANO – A violent and shocking landslide happened on October 16 on Ba Phu Mountain and threatened seven households and the head office of the Lai Xuan Commune People’s Committee in Thuy Nguyen district, Hai Phong City. After receiving the information, Regiment 238 of Division 363 of the Air Defense and Air Force Service sent 40 troops to help locals overcome the effects of the landslide.

The troops evacuated the affected households to a safe location and cleared hundreds of cubic meters of earth and rocks, using this material to reinforce necessary structures like dikes.
* Meanwhile, over 9,000 troops of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Military Command, Army Corps 1 and Military Region 4 with 11 boats and 40 automobiles were mobilized to support flood victims in the locality.
The provincial military command provided instant noodles, dry provisions, and fresh water to over 200 households in Thach Dinh commune, Thach Thanh district, which was still inundated by the flood 11waters. Additionally, they also conducted an environmental clean-up, treated polluted water and repaired houses, schools and other public facilities.
On Oct. 16, local armed forces launched a campaign to raise funds for flood victims. The proceeds will be handed over to the provincial Fatherland Front to help the victims return to their normal lives as soon as possible and stabilize their situations as safely as possible.
