At the flag-salute ceremony

Early morning in Truong Sa, officials, soldiers, and islanders conducted a formal flag-saluting ceremony before voting began, marking the start of the national festival.

Truong Sa special zone manages numerous small, scattered islands and outposts. Many voters are transient fishermen from various localities whose numbers fluctuate. Consequently, following National Election Council approval and Khanh Hoa Provincial Election Committee guidance, election preparations began early. On election day, all polling stations deployed mobile ballot boxes and vehicles to ensure these "transient" voters could access polling sites and exercise their civic rights.

Nguyen Thanh Tu and his wife, Dang Thi Bau, cast the first ballots on Da Tay A island. This was their second election in Truong Sa, and they expressed pride in participating. Despite living far from the mainland, they emphasized the consistent care received from authorities.

Tran Kim Phuong, captain of trawler NT020134TS, noted that officials provided clear voting guidance. Recently, he and fellow fishermen studied candidates’ biographies to select virtuous, capable representatives for the National Assembly and People’s Councils for the new term.

Casting ballots into the box

As previously reported, due to the remote conditions, polling stations in the Truong Sa special zone  held early voting simultaneously on March 8. Meanwhile, Truong Sa itself will vote together with the rest of the country on March 15. Immediately after the voting was completed, the polling committees conducted vote counting, prepared official records, and sealed all ballots before sending them to the mainland in accordance with regulations.
