The Dong Nai Provincial People’s Committee and the Institute of Rural and Urban Architecture had a meeting on April 10th to discuss a project to build a highway between Bien Hoa and Vung Tau.

The highway, which links together the two active economic hubs in southern Vietnam, is 68km in length and costs some VND22,000billion.

According to expert estimates, the highway will be classified as the A class and allow means of transport to run at a maximum speed of 120 km per hour.

Earlier, the Ministry of Transport had appointed Bien Hoa-Vung Tau Highway Development Joint-Stock Company to drawing up the project.

According to the Company, the project will be implemented on the build-operate-transfer (BOT) mode.

Local officials at the meeting affirmed that the Province is preparing to clear ground and make compensations for the lost landlords, and will soon hand over the whole site to the investor.
