PANO – The National Assembly (NA) on April 11th discussed the approval of a number of vice chairmen and members of the National Election Council and the Vice Chairman and members of the National Defence and Security Council (NDSC).

According to the proposal submitted by NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Deputy Prime Minister (PM) Truong Hoa Binh and Vice State President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh were nominated to the post of vice chairpersons of the National Election Council while PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc was nominated to the post of NDSC Vice Chairman.

Nominated members of the National Election Council are NA Vice Chairman Do Ba Ty; NA Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien; Head of the Central Commission for Organization Pham Minh Chinh; Head of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Tran Quoc Vuong; Defence Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich; Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam; Head of the NA Deputy Affairs Committee Tran Van Tuy; Minister of Home Affairs Le Vinh Tan; Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan; Vice Chairperson of the Vietnam Women’s Federation Nguyen Thi Thu Ha; Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers’ Association Lai Xuan Mon; Secretary of Central Businesses’ Party Committee Bui Van Cuong; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Le Quoc Phong.

* In the proposal presented by State President Tran Dai Quang, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc was nominated the NDSC Vice Chairman.

Other nominated NDSC members are NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan; Defence Minister, General Ngo Xuan Lich; and Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General To Lam.

The National Assembly then discussed the proposals in groups. As scheduled, the National Assembly will be ratified the proposals on the secret ballot basis.

The election results will then be announced the same day.
