Chairing the event, Vyacheslav Kalganov, Deputy Chairman of the municipal Committee for External Relations, underscored the CPV’s flexibility and creative approach to practical challenges, and ability to avoid dogmatism. These qualities, he noted, have enabled Vietnam to seize opportunities for national liberation, independence, socialism construction, economic development, and global integration, for the goal of prosperous people and a strong country.

Professor Andrey Vassoevych, Director of the institute of oriental studies at the Ghertsen university, analyzed lessons relevant to modern Russia drawn from the CPV’s revolutionary leadership. He pointed out Vietnam’s success in forging alliances, breaking diplomatic blockades, and prioritizing national interests. The expert also underscored Russia’s historic role in supporting Vietnam’s revolutionary movement, from the Party’s inception to its current development.
Anastasia Nenasheva from the Saint Petersburg Committee for External Relations, meanwhile, focused on President Ho Chi Minh’s legacy as the CPV’s founder and a pioneer of revolutionary journalism in Vietnam. She noted that as early as the 1920s, the Vietnamese leader recognized the power of the press as a tool for resistance and used his writings to inspire the struggle for national independence. Throughout his life, he employed journalism to spread Marxist-Leninist ideals and engage the Vietnamese people in their revolutionary cause.
Nguyen Quoc Hung, Vice President of the Association of Vietnamese in Russia, affirmed the central role of the Vietnamese people in building a new era. He said that public confidence in the Party has been reinforced by a clear understanding of the nation’s development path under its leadership.
Concluding the discussion, Kalganov remarked that in today’s global landscape, Russia has much to learn from Vietnam. Recalling Russia’s historical contribution to training Vietnam’s first communist leaders, including President Ho Chi Minh, he stressed the importance of drawing lessons from the country’s development under the Party’s leadership to strengthen bilateral relations and promote Russia’s own national prosperity.
