The Ministry of Health has recently held a ceremony to announce a Prime Minister decision on the establishment of the National Coordinating Centre for Organ Transplant under the ministry.

According to the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Online Newspaper, the centre is located in Vietnam-Germany Friendship Hospital. Its function is to coordinate on donating, retrieving and transplanting body organs between tissue banks and medical facilities nationwide.

Speaking at the ceremony, Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien stressed that the birth of the centre is an important event that helps promote communications and coordination between those involved in organ transplant.
