PANO – A conference to review the dental education program, titled “Bright smiles, bright future”, in the period of 2006-2010 and a signing ceremony for the cooperation program for the period from 2012 to 2016, were held by Ministry of Education and Training in association with Colgate-Palmolive Vietnam Company in Hanoi on January 5th.
This school dental education program is a global-scale program for children, organised by Colgate-Pamolive Corporation, in cooperation with various education and dentistry organisations all over the world.
In Vietnam, Colgate-Palmolive Cooperation, cooperated with Ministry of Education and Training and the face-tooth-jaw hospital, has implemented this program in many pre-schools and primary schools.
Thanks to the program, over 25,000 nationwide pre-schools and primary schools have received visual teaching tools for teeth and gum healthcare and about 1,5 million of grade-1 students received Colgate toothbrushes, toothpaste and more than 500,000 students were free examined their teeth.
Apart from educating children to care for their teeth, the program also widened knowledge of teeth healthcare for 20,000 dental managing staffs in various schools. Also, numerous extracurricular activities were held, involving thousands of students and their parents to participate.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Quang Do, Vice Minister of Education and Training thanked Vietnam Colgate – Palmolive company and various dental specialists in five-year program "Bright smiles, bright future" in helping millions of Vietnamese children have a better dental care. Also, he highly appreciated great contributions of Colgate in the dental-health education and expected this cooperation will continue to be effectively promoted to take care for students’ health in all Vietnamese schools.
