PANO – Various activities, such as seminars, talks and film screenings are being organized in Vietnam by the French Embassy in Vietnam and its partners in preparation for the 21st United Nations Climate Change Conference 2015 (COP21) in Paris, France.
Addressing a press conference in Hanoi yesterday, the French Ambassador to Vietnam Mr. Jean-Noël Poirier said the practical activities target to raise Vietnamese youngsters’ awareness of climate change, global warming and Vietnam’s adaptation.

He said that over the past time, France has contributed to the efforts of Vietnam, one of the five countries seriously affected by global warming, in coping with climate change by introducing new plant species and developing mangrove forests in Vietnam and assisting Vietnam in building new production methods and new life style to reduce emission.
COP21, scheduled to take place from November 30th to December 11th 2015 in Paris, is considered one of the largest conferences on climate change and an important event to reach a global agreement on climate change to cut greenhouse effects and emissions.
