PANO - 500 Vietnamese students at home and abroad took part in a charity run, themed “Connecting VietYouth 2014” at the My Dinh National Stadium, Hanoi, on August 24th in response to the volunteer youth year 2014 of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
Jointly organized by the Vietnamese Students’ Association in the UK, the Global Shapers Community and the Academy of Journalism and Communication, the event aimed to raise funds to buy learning equipment and water filters for needy children in Ta Lanh and Nam Lanh primary schools in Nghia Lo commune, mountainous province of Yen Bai. It also created a chance for Vietnamese students and overseas Vietnamese youths to meet and together join hands to help needy Vietnamese children, making contributions to promoting solidarity among them.
Together with the run, overseas Vietnamese students in the UK, Australia, France, Switzerland and Singapore and home students organized various fund-raising activities.
