This was not only a major celebration, but also a political event carrying profound significance for women across Vietnam. From this congress, a powerful message is being conveyed: Vietnamese women will continue to uphold their traditions, courage, wisdom, and sense of responsibility, joining the entire nation in writing new chapters in the country’s development journey.

The congress took place at a time when the nation is facing tremendous development opportunities, while still confronting numerous difficulties and challenges. In this context, unlocking the full potential, creativity, and aspiration of Vietnamese women, who make up more than half of the country’s population, has become an objective and urgent requirement.

National history has repeatedly demonstrated that at every turning point of the Vietnamese revolution, women have left a remarkable imprint. From the heroines who helped build and defend the nation, to millions of mothers and sisters who sacrificed their lives  in the resistance wars; from diligent workers in fields and factories to today’s female intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and scientists, Vietnamese women have always been a vital resource and one of the strongest driving forces behind social progress. That tradition continues to be embodied in the image of the modern Vietnamese women who are patriotic, self-reliant, resilient, compassionate, ambitious, intelligent, creative, and responsible.

The past term witnessed significant efforts and contributions by Women’s Union organizations at all levels and women nationwide. Tens of thousands of houses of compassion have been built; hundreds of thousands of women have received support to start businesses and develop their livelihoods; tens of thousands of safe and civilized family and community models have been replicated. Humanitarian initiatives such as “Godmother program,” “Accompanying women in border areas,” and activities supporting vulnerable women have spread widely throughout society. These achievements stand as vivid evidence of the compassion, solidarity, devotion, and aspiration for advancement among Vietnamese women.

In the new term, the task goes beyond safeguarding women’s legitimate rights and interests. It is also about creating momentum for women to achieve comprehensive development, master knowledge and technology, take charge of their own lives, and contribute more to national development.

The 14th National Women’s Congress must truly become a congress of innovation, aspiration, and action;  strongly inspire the spirit of daring to think big, daring to act boldly, and daring to innovate; encourage women to actively participate in digital transformation, green economic development, start-up, happy family building, and policymaking and implementation. Every Women’s Union cadre, member, and every Vietnamese woman should become an active stakeholder in the nation’s development in the new era.

In response to the congress, women in the military continue to uphold the glorious traditions of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army and the noble qualities of Vietnamese women. Together with the entire military, they will continue to study, train, innovate, and excellently fulfill their assigned political tasks, actively engage in mass mobilization work, policies for troops’ families, and social welfare activities. In doing so, they contribute to further enhancing the noble image of Uncle Ho’s soldiers in the new era while spreading the positive values of Vietnamese women among communities and society.
