A traditional dance of Vietnam

The Authority of Sachsen-Anhalt state of the German Democratic Republic has organised a week of unity with foreign residents in Madeburg.

This annual event in the locality, which usually falls in late Sept and early Oct, is an opportunity for all foreign residents in the locality to introduce friends to the culture and tradition and also the latest achievements of their home countries and also their achievements during their stay in Germany.

On behalf of the Vietnamese residents, the Germany-Vietnam Friendship Association in Magdeburg and Morning Star club have introduced Vietnam, its people and culture to German and other overseas friends living in Germany.

Vietnam was introduced as a friendly and lively country with rich and diverse cultural identities through “Vietnam Cultural Day”. Traditional dances amidst romantic melodies and pictures of Vietnam’s landscapes taken by Grubbe Lothar and members of the Berlin Photographers’ Club helped friends and visitors, especially teenagers of the second generation, better understand Vietnam.

The “Tour to Vietnam” of images and typical Vietnamese cuisine helped bring the Vietnamese community closer to the German community. During the week, participants were also introduced to the latest achievements of Vietnam in the process of global integration.
