Students and staff of the Mozambique Teachers University and the Vietnamese community in the country attended a ceremony commemorating the 37th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam held by the Vietnamese embassy on April 26.
At the event, Ambassador Dang Giang highlighted the significance of the April 30 Victory, which helped reunify Vietnam and open a new era for the country’s development.
The rector of the Mozambique Teachers University, Rogerio Uthui, recalled his visit to Vietnam in September 2009, and expressed his admiration for the changes occurring in the country, especially in education.
He said he hopes students from Mozambique will be able to study and practise in Vietnamese universities, adding that his university is ready to receive Vietnamese students who want to study languages at the school.
The Vietnamese film ‘Don’t Burn’ was shown at the ceremony, which also included an exhibition of photographs representing the ties of solidarity, friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique over the past 37 years.
