War-left bomb safely detonated
PANO – Engineers of the Bac Kan provincial Military Command successfully defused a war-left bomb in the province on April 20.
Earlier, the bomb was discovered by the locals in Bo Let hamlet, Yen Thinh commune, Cho Don district, Bac Kan province.
The 90cm-long bomb had a diameter of 25cm and weighed nearly 100kg. It was most likely dropped by the U.S. Air Force during the war in Vietnam.
At 16:00 on the same day, the bomb was moved to a safer place for detonation.
