Seminar on Upper Laos Victory to be held on April 13

The event will be held in Son La city and is a collaboration between the defense ministry and the provincial authorities of Son La.

The seminar aims to clarify the historical context, the strategies used by the French colonialists, the leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Vietnamese military tactics, and the roles and contribution of both countries' armed forces and citizens in the Upper Laos Campaign's success. It will help draw historical lessons and develop Vietnamese military arts to apply to military building, national defense reinforcement, and national construction and defense cause.

The event will draw the participation of 450 delegates, including experts, historical witnesses, and students, with nearly 80 articles presented. It will consist of three parts: General issues, Upper Laos Campaign 1953 - Symbol of the Vietnam - Laos special combat solidarity alliance in the resistance war against the French colonialists, and the meaning and experience lessons of the campaign.

An overview of the event

As part of the seminar, the delegates will offer incense at Uncle Ho’s Temple, visit the Son La Prison War Cemetery, and present gifts to policy beneficiaries in Son La province.
