International conference discusses solutions to AO/dioxin consequences
PANO – The Military Medical University, in association with the Permanent Office of the National Steering Committee on Overcoming War Consequences of Unexploded Ordnance and Toxic Chemicals in Vietnam (Office 701), held an international conference in Hanoi on December 14.
The meeting was to discuss how to resolve Agent Orange (AO)/Dioxin consequences in Vietnam.

Speaking at the conference, General Vinh said that with great efforts of Vietnamese military and civilian units as well as support form international organizations, various projects to study and evaluate the effects of AO/Dioxin on people’s health have been conducted over the past years, and many solutions have been implemented in order to improve living conditions of local people.
General Vinh also called on relevant countries, organizations, and specialists to work together to deal with the issue.
Speeches delivered at the conference discussed and proposed solutions to resolve AO/Dioxin consequences.
Notably, Office 701 has targeted to clean up 35 percent of dioxin-contaminated soil in Bien Hoa Airport and provide medical examination for all AO/Dioxin victims across the country in the 2018-2020 period.
