PANO - The Department of Military Medicine (DMM) under the Ministry of National Defense and the Party committee, authorities and people of Phu Tien commune of Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province on November 1 received a certificate recognizing DMM’s station during the resistance war against the French colonialists a provincial-level historical relic site.

On the occasion, local leadership and people also celebrated the 70th founding anniversary of the first Phu Tien Party cell, the predecessor of the present Phu Tien Party organization.

At the ceremony, participants recalled their historical days when Phu Tien communist soldiers stood side by side with first DMM personnel in the revolutionary base to fight the enemies.

70 years ago, on November 1, 1946, the Phu Tien Party cell was formed.  With the support of local people, the first members of the Party cell made united effort to build a strong Party cell and to lead people in both production and fight against foreign invaders. They were also entrusted with ensuring absolute safety for the headquarters of a number of Central and military agencies and units in the revolutionary base.

Since its establishment, with only three Party members, the Phu Tien commune-level Party cell has now become the Phu Tien Party organization with hundreds of members, who have set good examples in aspects of work and life in the locality and have together with local people gained successes in socio-economic development, defense, security, social order and safety maintenance.

Addressing the ceremony, DMM’s Political Commissar, Major General Dang Quoc Khanh affirmed that generations of military medical cadres and troops have always born in mind their deep gratitude to Phu Tien commune’s cadres, Party members and people for their great support during the hard and fierce days of the resistence war against the French colonialists.

General Khanh also said that the recognition of DMM’s former station as a historical relic site has met the aspiration of all officers, doctors, nurses and workers in the military medical sector. He hoped that the historical site will help further popularize military medical sector’s glorious traditions and urge generations of military doctors to heighten their responsibilities, duly practice of the medical ethics and improve their expertise so as to accomplish all the assigned missions.
