The exchange reaffirmed the time-honored relationship between the two countries. In wartime, the Vietnamese people helped the Cambodian escape from the Pol Pot genocidal regime and protect their revolutionary achievements. Thanks to geographical proximity, similarities in history, culture, revolutionary path, and development targets, the Vietnam-Cambodia friendship has been comprehensively promoted.

At the event, the organizers announced a visit to Cambodia for 70 former Vietnamese volunteer soldiers, policy beneficiaries, and national contributors. During the nine-day long tour, the participants will joint gratitude activities in the country.

The exchange was part of the practical activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic ties and the 70th anniversary of the Vietnam Wounded Soldiers’ and Martyrs’ Day. This is among thousands of visits and hundreds of meetings and exchanges that the center has held for war veterans over the past 25 years.
