Dak Lak reviews search and repatriation for martyrs’ remains
PANO – The People’s Committee of Dak Lak province has reviewed the search and repatriation for remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists who sacrificed themselves in wartime in Cambodia.
In the dry season of 2017-2018, despite adversity, the search and repatriation team K51 of the Provincial Military Command located and exhumed 12 sets of remains of martyrs while excavating over 200 different sites to find and bring home such remains.
After the retrieval, the province held a solemn reburial ceremony for these sets of martyrs at the local martyrs’ cemetery.
During the next search phase, the search team will focus their work in the Cambodian Mondulkiri province, based on previously provided information and aims to find and repatriate further 10-12 sets of remains of martyrs.
