Book on anti-war movement in Vietnam made public
PANO - A book entitled “Waging peace in Vietnam” was made public in Ho Chi Minh City on September 20 by the War Remnants Museum, the Ho Chi Minh City Union of Friendship Organizations, and the U.S.’s Veterans for Peace Organization.
The 250-page book was compiled by American veterans Ron Carver, David Cortright, and Barbara Doherty, who took part in the War in Vietnam.
The book, including stories of the former U.S. soldiers, their diaries, and articles collected from newspapers, posters, and leaflets, recaptures the mass objection against the war by the U.S. in Vietnam by U.S. soldiers who participated in the war between 1968 and 1972. It also comprises writings about U.S. veterans’ feelings after coming back to Vietnam.
The book was published to mark the 38th anniversary of the International Day of Peace, which falls on September 21.
Aside from the book introduction, a photo exhibition on the objection to the unjust war in Vietnam was also opened at the War Remnants Museum on September 20.
