Binh Thuan Military Command safely handles post-war ammunition

The Binh Thuan provincial Military Command's officer conduct the detection.

The pit storing ammunition for M79 grenade launchers was discovered by locals in Hong Son commune on April 25 while they were working on field.

On reporting on the news, the Binh Thuan provincial Military Command sent sappers and equipment to cooperate with the military commands of Ham Thuan Bac district and Hong Son commune to conduct the detection in an area of 2,000sq.m using specialized equipment.

Thanks to utmost efforts, troops detected, gathered, and safely handled an 85mm shell, an 82mm mortar shell, and hundreds of items of ammunition for M79 grenade launchers, M60 machine guns, and AR15 rifles.

As reported, since the beginning of this year, the Binh Thuan provincial Military Command has four times collected and handled post-war bombs and ammunition in the locality.

The province’s armed forces have accelerated the collection and safe and timely handling of bombs and ammunition to help local people feel secure and continue production activities.
