Air force unit marks traditional day
PANO - Air Force Division 371 of the Air Force and Air Defense Service held a ceremony on March 24 to mark the 50th anniversary of its traditional day (March 24, 1967). Attending the ceremony were Sen. Lt. Gen. Pham Thanh Ngan, former Politburo member and former Director of the General Department of Politics.

During the war in Vietnam, the division's troops engaged in 400 battles, shot down 320 US aircraft, including two B-52 bombers; destroyed 6 US battleships and three enemy military bases, contributing to liberating South Vietnam and reunifying the country.
Following up the heroic traditions of the Vietnam People's Air Force, the unit's chain of command focused on renewing and improving the quality of combat training and other specialized courses as well as mastering new weapons and equipment.
