Troubled fishermen rescued at sea
PANO - Ship 744 of Flotilla 922, Naval Fleet 129 of the Saigon Military Port of the Vietnam People's Navy on July 26 successfully towed a troubled trawler numbered PY 95139 TS with seven fishermen on board ashore.
Earlier, the trawler captained by Trinh Thanh from Phu Dong ward, Tuy Hoa city, Phu Yen province with seven crew members aboard was about to sink due to leakages on its deck.
Ship 744, which was on duty to protect the national sovereignty in the Vietnam's special economic zones, was ordered to search and rescue the troubled trawler.
After approaching and successfully saving all fishermen, troops on board Ship 744 gave first aids and arranged accommodation as well as necessities to the fishermen.
After arriving at the port, Naval Fleet 129 handed all fishermen to local authorities. On this occasion, the Saigon Military Port also gave VND 5 million to each fisherman and presented a certificate of merit to Ship 744.
