Dozens of troubled fishermen saved at sea
PANO - At 8:00 am on April 18, Ship BP 43-1101 of Flotilla 2 of the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command took 48 crew-members of a troubled trawler to Ky Ha Port (Nui Thanh district, Quang Nam province) safely.
The news was released by Flotilla 2 Commander, Colonel Nguyen Van My on the same day.
At 16:00 on the previous day, the Quang Nam provincial Border Guard Command was informed that trawler QNa 90749TS, captained by Huynh Quoc Viet, a 41-year old man from Nui Thanh district, went adrift due to an engine failure about 20 nautical miles off the East of Ly Son Island. The provincial Border Guard Command immediately ordered Flotilla 2 to send Ship BP 43-1101 with nine troops on board to the rescue.
After three hours of searching, the border ship reached and towed the troubled trawler to Dung Quat Port of Quang Ngai province before taking it to Ky Ha Port safely.
