Three distressed fishermen saved at sea
PANO – The Ho Chi Minh City’s Border Guard Command, together with relevant forces, successfully rescued three distressed fishermen in Ganh Rai Bay (near Ho Chi Minh City and Ba Ria-Vung Tau province).
At 5:00 on May 27, the Can Thanh Border Post of the command received information that tugboat LA-50418 went adrift while moving from Long An province to Ba Ria-Vung Tau province. Worse still, after being hit by a barge, the boat sank as its stern broke down.
Having received the information, the border post sent troops and vehicles to the scene. The rescue forces were able to save captain Pham Thanh Trung (born in 1986) and crew members Nguyen Van Khach (born 1973) and Bui Van Ho (born in 1974) from Can Duoc commune, Long An province.
According to Captain Nguyen Quoc Thanh, Deputy Commander of the border post, after reaching the distressed boat, the unit took care of the fishermen’s health.
