Talk on social and medical insurance in the military held
PANO – On May 17, the Military Social Insurance (MSI) and the People’s Army Newspaper (PAN) co-held a talk on promoting the effectiveness of social and medical insurance in the military with the attendance of the Deputy-Chief of the General Department of Politics, Lieutenant General Do Can.
Themed “Enhancing the effectiveness in implementing social and medical insurance policies in the military” and co-chaired by Major General Pham Van Huan, PAN Editor-in-Chief, and Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Dinh, MSI Director, the talk aimed to boost the implementation and dissemination of information about the policies.
More than 20 reports presented and sent to the talk closely analyzed and made clear the role, position and contributions of military insurance. The reports also pointed out difficulties and advantages during the implementation of the policies over the past time.
Accordingly, the military insurance sector has, over the past years, actively submitted to the Central Military Commission and leaders of the Ministry of National Defense a good number of proposals concerning policies on social and medical insurance for military personnel and related policies in line with the military and the socio-economic development of the country.
New social and medical insurance policies have been effectively implemented while social and medical insurance benefits for military personnel and employees have been properly ensured. The policies have been applied comprehensively to all beneficiaries, including military personnel and employees, as well as service people’s relatives, and in accordance with the road-map and regulations of the Ministry of National Defense, which sets the target that all military personnel will have been covered by medical insurance by the end of 2018.
