First aid given to fisherman Nguyen Ngoc Toan

Reportedly, fisherman Tran Ngoc Toan – a crew-member of trawler BV 92662TS, born in 1985 from Van Gia commune, Van Ninh district, Khanh Hoa province, had an accident while operating the trawler’s pulley system. After that, the trawler’s captain Nguyen Van Hoan (born in 1967 from Phuoc Tinh commune, Long Dien district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province) sent mayday signals.

After 30 minutes, Ship 278 on duty near the scene approached the trawler and took the distressed fisherman ashore.  He was given first aid on his wounded hand from the naval medical staff.

Earlier, on July 31, Ship 278 also saved fisherman Le Van Lam from trawler BD 96433TS who suffered from a sea snake bite while fishing at sea. He was then given first aid and medicines. Right after that, the medical team of Ship 278 took the injured fisherman to Con Dao district's General Hospital for further treatment.
