Naval troops save distressed fishermen at sea
PANO – Ship Truong Sa 18 (Naval Region 4) safely towed troubled trawler QNa-91739TS into Coast Guard Region 2’s port on November 8.
Troops helping lead a distressed fisherman by hands
Earlier, on October 31, the trawler with its 36 crew-members went adrift and was caught up in a reef in bad weather while operating in the waters of Song Tu Tay (Southwest Cay) Island. The troops on Song Tu Tay Island rescued 34 of the crew and took two dead bodies ashore.
The rescued fishermen had their health checked and were taken care of by the troops on the island.
The troops of Naval Region 3 then revived them, presented gifts to these unfortunate fishermen and returned them to their families.
