Naval ship rescues troubled fisherman in Truong Sa waters
PANO – A sick fisherman was successfully transported ashore from the Truong Sa (Spratly) waters by Ship 960 of Brigade 125 under Naval Region 2.
Troubled fisherman Le Van Lai
The patient, Le Van Lai (1970) from Hoai My commune, Hoai Nhon district, Binh Dinh province, on trawler BD 98128TS, suffered from a critical belly pain on June 21 while fishing in the Truong Sa waters.
Lai was diagnosed as gastrointestinal hemorrhage and peptic ulcer by the Truong Sa Island Infirmary. Troops on the island donated over 1,500ml of blood to save the fisherman.
In June 30, the ship brought the fisherman ashore for further treatment.
The troops’ good deed in the Truong Sa archipelago and Ship 960 contributed to strengthening military-civilian relations and firmly protecting national sovereignty over seas and islands.
