Implementing the Naval Command’s Party Committee’s policy on promoting and raising the efficiency of dissemination information on sea and islands, especially the “The navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to reach out to sea” program, over the past time, the Naval Region 3 Command has actively and proactively coordinated with seven provinces and cities in the Central region to make thorough preparations for the program “Naval troops support children of needy fishermen.”

It is a significant content of the “The navy as a fulcrum for fishermen to reach out to sea” program, aiming to meet the requirement of reality and tasks in the new context.

At the event, Rear Admiral Mai Trong Dinh, Political Commissar of Naval Region 3, announced and handed over decisions on supporting twelve children of fishermen in extremely difficult conditions in provinces and cities of Quang Binh, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Thua Thien Hue, and Quang Tri.

According to the decision, officers and soldiers of Naval Region 3 will provide financial support and create favorable conditions for two children to study and grow.

On the occasion, the Naval Region 3 Command and other units presented many meaningful gifts to the families of the sponsored children and twelve other fishermen in Tho Quang ward, Son Tra district, Da Nang city.

According to Senior Captain Nguyen Thien Quan, Commander of Naval Region 3, the program is a practical activity, contributing to easing the difficulties of needy children, improving the efficiency of mass mobilization work, tightening military-civilian solidarity, and encouraging fishermen to reach out to the sea and join hands to protect national sovereignty over sea and islands.
