Fishermen receive national flags |
During the visits, the mission provided fishermen with the Prime Minister’s directive No. 45, information concerning violations by Vietnamese trawlers, and penalties for trawlers fishing illegally at sea.
The mission also presented 500 national flags, 50 lifebuoys, 50 life-jackets, and 1,000 leaflets on “things to know when fishing offshore” to fishermen on Tho Chu, Nam Du and Phu Quoc islands and on trawlers fishing in the southwestern waters.
The visits aimed to encourage fishermen to go fishing offshore and enforce laws at sea, contributing to maintaining order, security at sea and protecting national sovereignty over seas and islands.
In the coming time, the Naval Region 5 Command will continue to cooperate with other localities and units to boost information dissemination on national seas and islands and conduct the program “Naval troops stand side by side with fishermen.”
