Themed “One million national flags for fishermen overseeing the sea,” the program handed over 1,500 national flags, 20 first aid kits, 10 gifts, and 100 pieces of clothing to fishermen and needy students with good academic results in Tam Quang, Tam Hai, and Tam Giang communes of Nui Thanh district.
This practical activity aimed at encouraging and supporting fishermen to raise their living standards and to promote the strength of the great national unity in building and firmly defending national maritime sovereignty.
Speaking at the program, Senior Colonel Le Huy Sinh, Political Commissar of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command affirmed that the presence of fishermen with the national flags in the waters of the Fatherland is a symbol of the will, power, solidarity, and resilience of the Vietnamese people.
These gifts showed the care of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and units for fishermen who fish off-shore.
