This was a meaningful activity, creating favorable conditions for needy students in the locality to continue their study, thereby showing the close ties between border troops and the local people in sea border areas.

Accordingly, in 2022 and 2023, the Soc Trang provincial Border Guard Command has taken care of 11 poor students, via scholarships worth 7,360,000 per student per year.

Student Thach Thi My Tuyen studying at Trung Binh B Primary School, Trung Binh commune, Tran De district is one of the needy students receiving the support. Reportedly, her mother died due to the COVID-19 pandemic. She and her father have to stay at their uncle’s house. In this case, Trung Binh Border Post, in coordination with the school, offered a scholarship to Tuyen to give her a chance to continue studying at the school.

Another example is Thach Can Van, a Khmer student who has an excellent academic record. She held that the scholarship not only eased difficulties for her family but also encouraged her to gain better results. She thanked border troops for supporting her and promised to try her best to deserve their assistance.

Student Phan Truc Lam in Ward 1, Vinh Chau town, has just received the scholarship while her family has been supported to build a great unity house, which has motivated her ahead of the new academic year.
