Lt. Gen. Nguyen Van Nam presents gifts to front-line forces.

On behalf of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee and People’s Committee, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nam and Major General Phan Van Xung, Commanding General and Political Commissar of the Municipal Military Command and other leaders of District 12 visited and presented gifts to those tasked with COVID-19 prevention and control missions in District 12.

They inquired after and asked the recipients to raise responsibilities, stay united, overcome difficulties, and take better care of local people.

The Military Region 7 Command, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel), and the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Military Command on September 2 launched “Zero Dong Orders for Essential Products” program at Chau Ro Ethnic Cultural House in Tan Thuan village, Long Tan commune, Dat Do district, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province.

Needy people receive gifts.

Under this program, 500 needy people in Dat Do district have received the orders, each worth VND 500,000. Each order consists of rice, eggs, dried fish, fish sauce, soy sauce, and other spices.

This is among 6,000 orders to be carried out in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Long An, Tay Ninh and Ba Ria - Vung Tau provinces to help ease locals’ difficulties caused by COVID-19.

The same day, a mission from Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee visited officials of Wards 1 and 2 of District 5, during which the mission highly appreciated the local authorities’ COVID-19 prevention efforts and their high sense of responsibilities to keep the zones green as well as showed their respect for their silent contribution to the fight against the pandemic.

On the occasion of the National Day, Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee gave VND 50 million to each ward and town, VND 5 million to each village and residential area.

People in Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province getting COVID-19 shots

Also on September 2, the steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control of Binh Duong province started vaccinating one million local people and workers with Vero Cell vaccines. The province hopes to give shots to 2.6 million people to get herd immunity to soon return to the new normal state starting September 15.

On September 2, the public security force of Ho Chi Minh City presented gifts and face-masks to needy policemen of Binh Tan district to fight COVID-19. They also handed over 3,500 gifts, including rice and other basic necessities to poor people and workers.
