More care for post-pandemic orphans
PANO - The Military Command of Tan Uyen town in association with the Women’s Association of the Binh Duong provincial Military Command and the local authority conducted the “godmother” program on April 8 to take care of children, who are orphans due to the COVID-19 pandemic, in Phu Chanh ward, Tan Uyen town, Binh Duong province.
As part of the program, the Military Command of Tan Uyen town presented two savings books, worth VND 10 million each, to two needy children, the two-year-old boy Nguyen Minh Nhat and the one-year-old girl Nguyen Ngoc Ha Phuong. Their mother Nguyen Thi Hang died because of the COVID-19 pandemic and their father is serving in the local militia force.

Also at the event, the women’s association of Tan Uyen town and the Binh Duong provincial Military Command and Phu Chanh ward authorities presented gifts and money in cash, worth VND 2.5 million in total, to the children.
The “godmother” program is launched by the Vietnam Women’s Union in order to mobilize its members, groups and individuals to support and take care of orphans who lost their parents due to the COVID-19 pandemic nationwide.
