In Gia Lai province, Army Corps 15, in collaboration with the provincial Military Command and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, visited and handed over gifts, worth VND 1.2 million to 27 children undergoing quarantine in a concentrated quarantine facility in the Vocational Training College No.21 under Army Corps 15.

Earlier on September 19, the Military and Defense Training Center under Infantry Regiment 991 of the provincial Military Command and Thien Tam Charity Club in Ia Grai district held a cozy Mid-autumn Festival for quarantined children at the center. During the event, children played games and received cookies, candies and milk from organizers.

In Da Nang city, the municipal Youth Union chapter and the city’s Association of Charities and Children Protection held the “Mid-autumn Festival for you” program for pandemic-affected needy children.

Presenting gifts to children in Hai Chau district

During the program, organizers handed over 300 gifts, including cash, face-masks, hand sanitizer and milk, to needy children in the city.

According to the municipal Youth Union chapter, from September 16 to 21, its affiliated units conducted various social activities for children on the occasion of the Mid-autumn Festival. 2,788 gifts, worth nearly VND 1.2 billion, were given to needy children in different localities in the city. 

In Kien Giang province, youth from Kien Giang University gave 100 Mid-autumn gifts to COVID-19-infected children being treated at the province’s Hospital of Cancers and Chau Thanh district’s Hospital of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases.

Gifts delivered to needy children

On the same day, youth from the university and Minh Hoang commune distributed 25 gift packages to needy children. The university’s youth also called upon benefactors to present gifts to children in lock-down areas and children in need in Chau Thanh district.

In Dong Phu district of Binh Phuoc province, missions from local agencies visited and presented 400 gifts, including moon-cakes and milk to children in quarantine facilities, lock-down areas and medical establishments for treating COVID-19 patients in the district.

During the visit, missions inquired after children’s health and encouraged them to overcome difficulties caused by the COVID-19 pandemic to obtain good academic results.

In Long An province, the provincial Military Command handed over gifts to 500 children from disadvantaged families and child patients at field hospitals in Ben Luc, Duc Hoa and Can Giuoc districts and Tan An city.

According to the provincial military command's Political Chief Senior Colonel Tran Van Linh, these gifts, funded by the Military Region 7 Command, were to help children have a cozy, happy and comfortable Mid-autumn Festival.

In Hanoi, the People’s Committee of Ngoc Thuy ward of Long Bien district and benefactors handed over 100 Mid-autumn gifts, including moon-cakes, star-shaped lanterns, face-masks and books and notebooks, to children from needy households and children with disabilities in the locality.

During the above-mentioned activities, the COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures, including 5K regulations, were strictly observed.
