* President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Chairman of the Central Theory Council Nguyen Xuan Thang led a mission to offer incense and laid flower in remembrance of fallen soldiers at Nui Nai War Cemetery in Dai Nai ward, Ha Tinh city.
On the occasion, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and the delegation visited, inquired after, and presented gifts to families of ten wounded soldiers, martyrs, and national contributors in Ha Tinh city and handed over 150 gift packages to families of wounded and fallen soldiers in the province.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed deep gratitude to relatives of fallen, wounded, and sick soldiers and national contributors in the province in particular and the country in general.
* Deputy Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien chaired a ceremony to inaugurate and handover a house and presented gifts to local authorities and policy beneficiaries in Tien Nha commune, Luc Nam district, Bac Giang province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Ngo Minh Tien affirmed that the house and gift presentation was one of the practical activities of the General Staff and its agencies and units to pay gratitude to those who had rendered good service to the revolution. The activity demonstrated the military’s sentiment and responsibility for people, especially policy beneficiaries.
The deputy chief of the General Staff expected that in the coming time the local Party Committees and authorities at all levels will continue giving both material and spiritual support to policy beneficiaries, thus helping them be more secure and encouraging them to build happy families and contribute to the national construction and defense cause.
Reportedly, over the past time, the General Staff has built more than 600 houses and donated dozens of billion VND to construct new-style rural areas in various localities.
* The Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality under the General Staff handed over a house to Pham Thi Thuong, martyr Khuong Van Tao’s widow in Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province.
The house was constructed with the financial support from the unit’s fund donated by its staff over the past time.
* The Nam Dinh provincial Military Command, in collaboration with local Party Committee and authorities, held a memorial service for martyr Vu Dinh Nhi and Lam Van Thoa in Hai Loc commune, Hai Hai district.
At the event, the provincial military command handed over a certificate to martyrs’ families in recognition their contribution to the nation.
* Army Corps 16 conducted a healthcare program in Dak Nong province for policy beneficiaries and needy locals.
During the event, the medical staff of Military-Civilian Hospital 16 and Military-Civilian Infirmary of Regiment 726 gave health examination and medicine to around 500 locals and presented gifts to 300 policy beneficiaries and national contributors, worth more than VND 70 million in total. They also equipped locals with methods to prevent some common diseases.
In addition, the mission formed a mobile team to provide health check-ups and present gifts to policy beneficiaries and elderly people who were not able to join the program.
* In Hanoi, the Vietnam Association of Agent Orange (AO)/ Dioxin Victims (VAVA) and the National Humanitarian Portal 1400 launched text message campaign to raise funds to support AO/dioxin victims.

At the event, VAVA and Portal 1400 called on people and troops nationwide support the campaign by texting DA CAM to 1409. Each message equals a donation worth VND 20,000 (0.85 USD) to help the victims.
At the event, the organizing panel handed over ten wheelchairs to AO/ dioxin victims.
The campaign will last until September 17.
