The Military Region 1 Command sent nearly 600 troops and militiamen and 19 vehicles to conduct various activities to overcome the aftermath of Typhoon Yagi. They helped residents in Thai Nguyen city of Thai Nguyen province build 23 temporary shelters and disinfected 68 hectares of land in the city; provided assistance for local communities affected by natural disasters to overcome the storm’s consequences to soon stabilize their lives; found bodies of two victims in Cao Bang province.

Troops actively conduct search and rescue mission

Eleven thousand troops and militiamen and 207 vehicles of the Military Region 2 Command have also been mobilized to collaborate with other forces in searching for victims of landslide in Lang Nu hamlet, Phuc Khanh commune, Bao Yen district, Lao Cai province and assisting people in storm-hit localities in overcoming the consequences.  

Meanwhile, thousands of troops and militiamen and 71 vehicles of the Military Region 3 Command headed to Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Ha Nam, Hoa Binh, and Hung Yen to support locals to overcome consequences of natural disasters.

The same day, the Hanoi Capital Command mobilized more than 7,000 troops and militiamen and 302 vehicles to assist people in eight districts in overcoming the storm’s aftermaths.

The Vietnam Border Guard Command sent 1,200 troops, 70 vehicles, and seven service dogs to work with other forces and localities to search for missing people and help people in Ky Son district of Nghe An province, Muong Khuong, Si Ma Cai, and Bao Yen districts of Lao Cai province, and Ha Lang district of Cao Bang province to bring their life back to normal after the storm.

Six hundred and ten naval troops and 25 vehicles joined the mission in Quang Ninh province and Hai Phong city.

In realizing the directive of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee, the provincial military command mobilized 260 troops from different agencies and units, vehicles, and equipment to work with the Management Board of Ha Long Bay, the People Committees of Ha Long city, Cam Pha city, Quang Yen town, and Van Don district to collect garbage on beaches. The provincial military command also suggested the Naval Region 1 Command direct Brigades 147, 169, 170 and Division 363 of the Air Defense – Air Force Service to send troops to conduct the mission.
