Military hospital reviews its voluntary blood donation drives
PANO - Military Hospital 103 under the Vietnam Military Medical University held a conference on October 31 to review the implementation of its voluntary blood donation drives in the 2017-2018 period.

Accordingly, in 2017 and the first nine months of 2018, the hospital, in association with other civilian and military units and academies, organized 43 voluntary blood donation drives, and collected 17,553 blood units. At present, blood for medical emergency and treatment of Military Hospital 103 comes from blood donors.
Speaking at the event, Major General, Assoc. Prof., Dr. Tran Viet Tien, the hospital’s director, said that during the two years of 2017 and 2018, the voluntary blood donation drives of the hospital were frequently held, bringing significant results. Many defense agencies and military units, military schools and factories enthusiastically responded to this meaningful movement and actively cooperated with the hospital to organize voluntary blood donation drives, he added.
According to its plan in 2019, the hospital will carry out information dissemination on the movement at 10 to 12 military units, and hold from 24 to 25 voluntary blood donation drives to collect 9,000 to 10,000 blood units for medical treatment of the hospital and for other hospitals.
