Military and civilian youths help clean up environment
PANO - Troops of the Cam Ranh Border Post and Youth Union members of Cam Linh and Cam Loi wards of Cam Ranh city, Khanh Hoa province, actively participated in a campaign “Clean up the sea” launched on April 22 by the post.
Accordingly, the joint team raised the public awareness of the significance and great value of environmental protection, the importance of the sea towards people’s lives, and the need to protect the sea environment.
They also encouraged local households to collect waste along the coast.
The campaign was part of practical activities in response to the World Environment Day (June 5) and the World Ocean Day (June 8).
* The same day, thousands of local people and volunteer youths tidied up streets and beaches in the central city of Da Nang in response to the 2018 Earth Day.
The participants also classified rubbish, exchanged rubbish with recycled products and displayed photos to raise awareness of environmental protection.
The activity was part of the project “Ocean without plastics”, in contribution to developing Da Nang into a green and smart city.
