The activity was part of the program “Supporting children to go to school” and “Adopted children of border posts” launched by the border guard command since 2014.
Under this program, units under the Lang Son provincial Border Guard Command are sponsoring more than 100 students at primary to high schools in border areas of the province. Each student receives VND 500,000 per month. In addition, border guards regularly visit, encourage the students and guide them on how to study, practice, and orient them to choose suitable vocations according to their competence and strengths.
In the 2021-2022 academic year, 32 children benefiting from this program got good academic records while 58 others had pretty good academic results. The students’ achievements partly came from the thoughtfulness and due care of the Lang Son provincial Border Guard Command and its affiliates as a source of encouragement for them to further study.
