Talking about the unit’s task performance, Senior Colonel Pham Xuan Thanh noted that One-Member Limited Liability Coffee Company 15 is working in 18 communes and wards, eight districts in the four provinces and cities of Dak Nong, Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Da Nang. These are home to ethnic minority and religious people, facing difficulties in economic conditions and complicated developments of social order in the area.

As a defense and security enterprise, while operating two defense-economic units of Cu M-gar (Dak Lak) and Quang Son (Dak Nong), so far, the company is producing 828 hectares of coffee, more than 99 hectares of rubber, and running factories producing powdered coffee, biofertilizers, and pure water.

In 2023, the unit reached its all-set target, with profit of 190% of the set plan, while the average income of nearly 800 workers reached VND 8.06 million per person per month.

Regarding its policies to raise ethnic minority laborers’ income, Senior Colonel Pham Xuan Thanh held that, the unit’s chain-of-command has created favorable conditions for local people, especially those from ethnic minority groups, to work in the company and participate in producing coffee and rubber. So far, the company is recruiting 117 employees. Accordingly, all of them have stable incomes. The company has also supported ethnic minority groups and instructed them to develop household economy. As a result, they escaped from poverty.

In order to operate the Defense-Economic Units of Cu M’gar and Quang Son, the company invested more than VND 150 billion to build infrastructure and stabilize the life of more than 4,700 people living in these areas. In 2022 and 2023, implementing the Program 1719, the company plant seeds, livestock, and agricultural materials to improve coffee gardens for 362 poor and near-poor households in the communes of Ea Sin, Krong Buk district (Dak Lak), Quang Son, Quang Hoa, Dak Ha and Dak Rmang, Dak Glong district (Dak Nong), at a total cost of VND 8.62 billion.

Thanks to the assistance of the unit, so far, 12 out of 16 communes in the area are recognized as new-style rural areas, with stable political security and socio-economy developed, and defense potential enhanced.

In 2024 and the 2025-2030 period, the company will continue to implement directives and orders of the Central Military Commission, Defense Ministry, Military Region 5’s Party Committee and Chain-of-command, to develop business as regulated, while boosting military-civilian ties, implementing sustainable poverty reduction models which combine socio-economic development with building a defensive posture in strategic areas of the Central Highlands region. Especially, it will also create jobs and raise local people’s living standards, giving priority to ethnic minority people.
