Island infirmary saves fisherman from appendicitis
PANO - The Song TuTay Island Infirmary in Truong Sa district, KhanhHoa province, successfully conducted an appendectomy on fisherman Vo Van Quang on August 21.
At 20:00 on August 20, while fishing offshore on trawler BD 97845 TS with Le Van Cu at the helm, fisherman Quang, aged 58, had a stomachache, so he was immediately taken to Song Tu Tay Island for emergency operation.

The fisherman was hospitalized at 10:00 on August 21 when he was experiencing a critical pain around the navel, nausea, and pelvic pain.
The infirmary’s doctors examined him and concluded that he had an acute appendicitis and needed urgent surgery.
The operation lasted more than one hour and concluded successfully.
Quang is now recovering.
