PANO - A fisherman poisoned by synanceia was timely saved by physicians in Song Tu Tay Infirmary in Song Tu Tay Island commune, Truong Sa district, Khanh Hoa province.
At about 2am on April 30th, while diving to catch synanceia in Truong Sa Archipelago waters, fisherman Pham Ngoc Phu, aged 20, was hit by such a poisonous fish, severely contaminated with its poison.
At noon the same day, he was hospitalized in Song Tu Tay Infirmary with swollen right arm and disordered blood pressure, and heart beats and heart breathing.
Doctor Luyen Trung Kien immediately decided to give first aid to the troubled fisherman to get him back to the normal situation so that he could recover himself gradually.
Doctors said that had the emergency aid not been given timely, the patient might have died as the toxin of the synanceia would have infiltrated his heart. The patient would be discharged from the infirmary in three days time.
