PANO - The General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People's Army handed over a gratitude house to a martyr’s family in Huong Lam village, Dai Dong commune, Thach That district, Hanoi.
The activity was part of the military unit’s celebration of the 30th Whole People's Defense Festive Day and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) (December 22).
The recipient, Nguyen Van Coi, a relative of martyr Kieu Van Giang, had faced housing difficulty.
Speaking at the event, Major General Vu Ba Trung, Deputy Political Commissar of the General Department of Logistics of the Vietnam People's Army, said that over the past years, in addition to successfully completing their political tasks, the Party Committee and Chains-of-Command of the units have always paid attention to educating their troops about the Vietnamese tradition “When drinking water, remember its source”.
This was also an opportunity to educate the national patriotic tradition and pay gratitude to those who had sacrificed their lives for the national independence and freedom and happiness of the people.
After three months of construction, the 100 sq.m house was built at a cost of VND 300 million, of which VND 80 million was contributed by the unit.
At the event, representatives of the General Department of Logistics also presented necessities and meaningful gifts to needy policy families in Dai Dong commune.
