Gia Lai Border Guards enhance border control against COVID-19 outbreak
PANO – The Gia Lai Provincial Border Guards held a meeting on March 13 to deploy missions to its relevant units following the directive of the Border Guards Commander on enhancing border control in response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19).
Prior to the complicated developments of COVID-19, the Provincial Border Guard has actively tightened border control and implemented medical checks for all people entering Vietnam while preparing quarantined areas for suspected cases. They also directed troops to do disinfection at border gates and delivered medical declaration forms to people on entry. In addition, they provided face masks, mouthwash, and antibacterial liquid for the border stations and the border commune of Ia Dom in Duc Co district.
The Provincial Border Guards made plans to continue enhancing collaboration with relevant forces to disseminate information related to the prevention of the epidemic while strengthening border control in the time to come.
At the meeting, the unit required the Provincial Department of Health to provide adequate medical supplies for them and send personnel to support the border troops in coping with the epidemic.
