The Dien Bien provincial Military Command has so far completed designing two quarantine areas at its Infirmary 40 and Regiment 741 with 400 beds. They could raise the number of beds by an additional 200 if needed.

In addition, the command worked with local authorities and Economic-Defense Unit 379 to set up another two special quarantine areas at its Muong Toong commune’s Clinic and Factory 79, respectively, with a total of 150 beds.

On March 10, these facilities quarantined 118 suspected COVID-19 infected citizens. Among them, 66 tested negative for COVID-19 and returned home after 14 days of quarantine.

The unit also observed the pandemic developments while seriously and regularly following troops’ health.

In his concluding speech, General Dung urged the command to further accelerate and effectively implement COVID-19 prevention, ensure good health for 100% of troops and actively join hands with local functional agencies to the fight against the disease.

* The same day, the Corporation 28 One Member Limited Liability Company under the General Department of Logistics handed over 15,000 antibacterial facemasks to the Vietnam Border Guard Command.
