On July 16, a joint mission of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organization and the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense conducted gratitude activities in Quang Ninh province. They offered incense at Po Hen Martyrs’ Monument in Hai Ha district and presented gifts to policy beneficiaries in border localities in Quang Ninh province.

Delegates commemorated fallen soldiers and recalled the glorious tradition of Border Post 209 (present Po Hen Border Post) and Hai Son forest plantations’ staff who had sacrificed themselves to safeguard national sovereignty and security in border area.

Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong presents gifts to national contributors in Quang Ninh province.

While visiting policy beneficiaries in border localities of Quang Ninh, Head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for Organization Pham Minh Chinh inquired after national contributors and policy beneficiaries and encouraged them to overcome all difficulties to contribute their strength and talent to the province’s development.

On behalf of the Party and State leaders, Chinh presented gifts to 100 national contributors, while Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, presented the Central Military Commission’s and Defense Ministry’s gifts to 100 others. Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, presented gifts of the Party Committee and Chain-of-Command of the Vietnam Border Guard to policy beneficiaries in the localities. Quang Ninh province also allocated VND 18 billion for gratitude activities.

On the same day, the Da Nang municipal People’s Committee held a ceremony to announce the decision to posthumously bestow the title of Heroic Vietnamese Mother to 26 mothers in the province and handed over the Independence Order of different classes to fallen solders’ families.

Prior to the day, more than 150 young overseas Vietnamese in different countries and territories joined the “Vietnam Summer Camp 2019.” Offering incense and laying wreath at the Truong Son National War Cemetery in Quang Tri, participants showed their gratitude to those who laid down their lives for national independence. They presented gifts to heroic Vietnamese mothers and VND 100 million to the province’s fund for needy people.

At the War Cemetery of Hanoi, the Vietnamese Women’s Union and Youth Chapter of Military Hospital 354 of the General Department of Logistics offered incense and laid wreath in commemoration of fallen soldiers and heroic Vietnamese mothers.
