On behalf of the delegation of national contributors from Ca Mau, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Tinh, Deputy Director of Ca Mau’s department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, thanked the Ministry of National Defense (MND) for the warm reception.

He affirmed that upholding the revolutionary traditions of the  homeland, over the past years, the province has overcome difficulties and made great efforts to gained significant outcomes in all fields. Especially, the province has paid much attention to implementing policies for national contributors.

After presenting gifts of the MND, Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh briefed delegates on the military’s activities, underlining that the military has thoroughly grasped the Party’s policies and viewpoints, effectively performed its advisory role on military and defense work, actively coordinated with other forces to handle any circumstances, contributing to firmly safeguarding independence, sovereign, unity, territorial integrity, the Party, the State, the people and socialism, as well as maintaining political security and peaceful environment for the country’s construction and development.

Over the past years, the whole military has effectively implemented the gratitude movements, calling for more resources to take care of national contributors.

During the past ten years, the whole military has mobilized troops and other resources to contribute nearly VND 550 billion to the gratitude fund, built more than 7,000 gratitude houses, taken care of 2,879 heroic Vietnamese mothers, 702 children of war martyrs and severely-wounded soldiers, to name but a few.

Regarding the search, collection, and identification of martyrs’ remains, since 2012, the entire country has gathered nearly 20,000 sets of remains of martyrs. The whole country has more than 300,000 remains of martyrs yet to be verified gathered in war cemeteries.
