Reportedly, at around midnight on August 5, bad weather caused fisherman Le Van Ngoan to fall overboard. After drifting at sea for more than one day, at around 12:10 p.m. on August 6, he was spotted and rescued by fishing boat ST-90278-TS. The trawler’s captain, Nguyen Van Hung, born in 1972 from Ba Tri Commune, Vinh Long Province, rescued and gave the victim first aid.

Ngoan was later transferred to fishing boat ST-94077-TS, captained by Tran Van Thao, and then taken ashore and handed over to relevant authorities.

After receiving the victim, officers, soldiers, and military medical personnel of Trung Binh Border Post examined Ngoan’s health. He is now in stable condition. The unit is continuing to verify related details, complete reception procedures, provide medical support, and coordinate with his family to bring him back to his hometown.
